Take Part In This Jubilee Jolly

There's still time to enter this very apt Jubilee weekend event...

Jubilee weekend is fast approaching, for some of us that will mean a well-earned break and a chance to indulge in Victoria sponge, scones, cucumber sandwiches and maybe even a glass (or two) of fizz. For those that can't sit still, and don't like to overindulge (at least not before earning said indulgence) the aptly named Jubilee Bridge 10K might be the answer.

Taking place on 5 June, organisers are billing the inaugural outing of this north-west 10K as 'one of the most unique event experiences in the country'! A closed road road race, it will start and finish on Runcorn's Silver Jubilee Bridge - a Grade II listed bridge that runs between Widnes and Runcorn and crosses the River Mersey and Manchester Ship Canal.

A flat out-and-back route across the bridge and through the streets of Widnes, the race is all on tarmac and we've heard it is a great course for a PB! A PB... on Jubilee weekend, surely that's the stuff of dreams? A spokesperson from race organiser, RunThrough, said: "Each mile is accurately marked out with distance flags and we have plenty of helpers to keep you on track and to encourage you on your way to the finish."

Speaking of helpers, RunThrough is always looking for likeminded people to join their community and is keen to hear from people who would like to volunteer at any of their events. They commented: "From managing stalls at the event village to handing out medals at the finish, volunteers are a critical part of what make RunThrough events so special!

"To show our gratitude, we will offer two free entries to one of our events and a free RunThroughKit technical T-Shirt."
