The Brigg Poppy 10K and Military Challenge takes place in Brigg, North Lincolnshire, starting and finishing in the town's Market Place. There are two 10K events to choose from: the standard Poppy Run and the Military Challenge, with both following the same road course and supporting the Royal British Legion.
The Poppy Run is an officially measured and UKA licensed 10K on flat, closed country roads, giving runners a fast course with strong potential for a personal best. The Military Challenge covers the same 10K route but requires participants to carry their own weighted pack throughout the race. Men carry 36lb and women carry 24lb in line with the event guidelines.
The Brigg Poppy 10K is open to runners of different abilities, with participants able to run, jog or walk the standard event. The combination of a fast road course, a town centre start and finish and the more demanding Military Challenge creates a distinctive race day, while the event's connection with the Poppy Appeal supports the work of the Royal British Legion.
