Be Prepared For Brewood Woggle

Look ahead to autumn with this scenic 10K road race...

Be Prepared, and sign up for a quality autumn 10K - the Brewood Woggle 10K. This road race takes place each September around the beautiful village of Brewood in South Staffordshire. Entries have not yet opened for 2024 so be sure to keep an eye on the web page for further information.

As well as the main 10K run, for adults, the event also has a selection of children’s races that are run safely away from the public roads on a school sports field.

The event is operated by Brewood Scouts Fundraisers, the fundraising arm of the 2nd Brewood Scout Group, to raise money for refurbishment of the Scout Headquarters building and ongoing scouting activities and so, in recognition of their Scouting ancestry the event has been nicknamed 'The Woggle'.

The 10K course is undulating in nature, running on public roads, through the beautiful countryside around Brewood. The race begins with a massed-start over a short closed-road section and finishes in the village's market square.

All finishers receive a bespoke medal and the male and female winner of each race also receive a trophy that they can take home. In addition, the event is becoming legendary for its post race tea, coffee and homemade cakes – just what's needed to refuel!

2023 participant, Jane Holt, commented after the race: "Thank you to everyone involved in delivering an excellent race. The support from the cubs/scouts was great and you should be very proud of them. Liked the support from local people too including the house which was playing the theme music from the London Marathon.

"Very well organised, lovely, scenic route (I especially liked the section past Chillington Hall), nice medal and goodie bag and last but not least, the cupcake!"
