Bosworth Half Marathon

Let Battle Commence...

Entries open soon for this year's Bosworth Half Marathon...

Runners looking to do battle in Bosworth this year need to mark 25 February in their diaries as that's when entries for 2024's Bosworth Half Marathon go on sale. One of nine races in the Leicestershire Road Running League (LRRL), the half marathon is always a popular one so 'fastest finger first' as they say!

The well organised event from Desford Striders RC offers runners a scenic, undulating course. Starting at Bosworth Lakeside Lodges the route travels along a rural route around the medieval town of Market Bosworth – close to the site of the final clash in the War of the Roses and passing various historical sites linked to that famous battle.

Organisers say: We aim to offer a well organised, great value race on a course that takes in some lovely Leicestershire scenery around the historic town of Market Bosworth."

The event is blessed with a fantastic venue - Bosworth Lakeside Lodges which boasts many on-site facilities including a shop, crazy golf and children's play area, as well as many water sports, so bring along friends and family to enjoy the day with you.

In 2023 it was Matt Scarsbrook of Badgers RC who won the race with a time of 1:10:16 while the women's victory was claimed by Rebecca Randell of Shepshed RC in 1:25:46. The last runner finished in 3:22:34. There were 705 finishers.
