Feel The Burn...
This late autumn favourite will have runners firing on all cylinders...
It's that time of year. The nights are drawing in and we're looking ahead to Halloween and Bonfire Night. And Cambridgeshire runners are particularly anticipating the Bonfire Burn 10K (5 November) which comes with promises of a flat, multi-terrain course ready for runners to fire around and claim that sought after PB!
The event is an established late autumn favourite with nearly 1000 runners taking part but, despite this, the race retains a real village community event atmosphere.
The race starts at Histon & Impington Recreation Ground with runners then leaving to follow a route on roads and tracks around the local area with the multi-terrain course passing along the northern country fringe of Cambridge.
Organised by the Friends of Histon & Impington, a village charity whose aim is to improve health and wellbeing in their community, this 10K is one of their many activities and is open to anyone aged 13 and upwards of all abilities who enjoy challenging themselves in like-minded company.
In 2022 the race was won by Adam Tapley of Cambridge & Coleridge AC who posted a great time of 33:32. The women's title was claimed by Troi Baxter of Newmarket Joggers in 39:02.
