Winter Warmer Back In 2025

A warm welcome is guaranteed at this Lancashire 10K...

Make plans for a friendly, February 10K next year. The aptly named Blackburn Winter Warmer will return on 2 February and while there might still be more than a chill in the air, all runners are guaranteed a warm welcome.

The 10K is friendly but challenging, and starts on the athletics track in Witton Park before climbing the heights of Buncer Lane then descending through the countryside of Pleasington heading back to the track for a 'stadium' finish.

This race continues to grow in popularity - in previous years it has been a sell out so it is strongly recommended that those wanting a place book in advance as entries on the day cannot be guaranteed. There are contingency plans should the weather not play ball, the event will be staged one week later on 9 February.

Organisers, Blackburn Road Runners, say: "We provide a dedicated team of pace runners for the 10K, ready to assist you in achieving your desired times. Our pace runners maintain a consistent, pre-determined pace throughout the race, with the flexibility to make slight adjustments at different points to accommodate changes in terrain. Count on them to guide you towards your goal with expertise and lots of support."

There is also a 2K Junior Fun Run on the day which is the ideal way to get the kids involved. The race remains within Witton Park and is well supported at every turn.

It is worth hanging around post-race as there is always an 'awesome' cake stall offering a variety of treats. All proceeds from the stall contribute to Blackburn Road Runners' nominated charity, making your post-race indulgence even more meaningful.
