Nearly time to let loose The Longhorn
Runners, walkers and dogs will be lapping up the picturesque course and venue.
Only two days to go to a favourite with runners and SBR Events – The Longhorn, on Sunday 24 April with a day of multi-lap racing in a friendly and safe environment at Thoresby Park, Nottinghamshire. A new 30K (18.6 miles) has been added to the choice of race distances and is ideal for anyone looking to bridge the gap between a half and full marathon.
An award-winning and popular event, the Longhorn is champing at the bit ahead of Sunday where participants run or walk a stunning route and are rewarded with an eye-catching medal. If they are in a competitive frame of mind there are trophies, prizes and certificates to aim for.
It’s all about the location: Thoresby Park, its grounds and 19th century hall form a perfect backdrop as does Nottinghamshire’s National Nature Reserve and includes access to private areas of Sherwood Forest. The area is home to the estate’s Longhorn cattle which will be corralled away from the main action.
There is a race for every runner: they have the choice of 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, Marathon, 30K, 50K Ultra and 60K Ultra which caters for the needs of the short distance specialists as well as endurance athletes. Nordic Walkers are equally welcome.
Man’s best friend has the option of a 5K, 10K, Half Marathon or 30K and there will be several water stations along the course for them and their owners to rehydrate.

Fingers crossed for dry weather!
