ASICS London 10K 2023

Entries Double In ASICS 10K

Capital performances and charity gains in ASICS London 10K...

The last two ASICS London 10K races attracted impressive numbers, with 7,902 finishers in 2021 and 7,327 completing the scenic course from Green Park to Whitehall last year. We can now chalk up an extraordinary record of 17,500 entries and 13,347 finishers on Sunday 9 July, 2023.

An estimated half a million pounds has already been raised for a range of charities, including the events’ national charity partners the Alzheimer's Society and Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity.

The event is organised by LimeLight Sports Club, starts close to Buckingham Palace and passes many of the capital’s most iconic sites including Westminster Bridge, London Eye, Piccadilly Circus, Big Ben, and Trafalgar Square, before a dramatic finish on Whitehall, just past Downing Street.

ASICS London 10K is recognised as one of the world’s leading city centre 10Ks with its electric atmosphere, live bands, DJs, and thousands of cheering supporters lining the route. As well as a mass participation event of increasing stature, this is also a top-class distance race.

The winners this year were Jonathan Collier (Harrow AC, 30:17) – just seven seconds away from his PB – and Slovakian international and five-time national champion Zofia Nanova (34:23).

The men's podium was completed by improving Kent athletes Ed Chuck (Dulwich Runners, 30:47) and Marshall Smith (Ashford AC, 30:48 PB) while Nanova was joined on the women's rostrum by Holly Dixon (Cambridge Harriers, 34:36) and Izzie Shirley (Bath Tri Performance Centre, 36:07) – pictured above.

More than 550 athletes finished inside the 40-minute marker including 36 women, as ASICS London 10K helps to push standards ever higher. Craig Dews, CEO of LimeLight Sports Group, said: “Once again, the streets of London came alive for the ASICS London 10K, truly one of the highlights in the capital’s running calendar. We are proud to have delivered our biggest ever ASICS London 10K, cementing its position as one of the world’s greatest 10K running events."

Lucy Greenhalgh, Marketing Manager ASICS UK and Ireland ASICS added: “Congratulations to all runners who took to the streets in London today. It was great to see so many people sharing the joy of movement. Running never felt better.”
