Wolverhampton Bounces Back!

Wolverhampton races look to a stronger return this September...

The Wolverhampton Half Marathon and 10K will return on 7 September with renewed determination to deliver a first-class event. A joint collaboration between Stuweb and the City of Wolverhampton Council, the race promises to take runners on a vibrant journey through some of the most scenic and historic parts of the city centre.

Organisers are aiming to bounce back after the challenges faced in 2024, with an emphasis on learning from past mistakes and offering an improved experience for all participants. The event’s goal is to showcase the energy, character and beauty of Wolverhampton to the wider running community.

Participants can choose between a Half Marathon or the more accessible 10K, with both options providing a unique chance to explore the heart of the West Midlands. The final route is yet to be confirmed, but organisers have made it clear that lessons have been taken seriously. They told us: "After 2024’s issues, we are committed to increasing marshal numbers, improving signage with colour-coded systems to match bibs, and strengthening communication throughout race weekend to ensure clarity and confidence for all.

"Under the banner of Wolverhampton’s motto, 'Out of Darkness, Cometh Light', we are confident the 2025 edition will be a race to remember."
