Winter Run countdown is on
This is the virtual event of the year. 10,000 will come together apart to be involved in something special on Sunday 7 February
The countdown is on for one of the big running events of this – strangest of all – winters. Sunday 7 February is the big day when 10,000 will race the popular 10k distance at a selected route close to home and be part of Winter Run UK 2021 style.
In normal circumstances thousands of runners would flock to central London for the quirkiest of events where snow storms, selfies with penguins and polar bear hugs are the order of the day. Plus that wonderful post-race feeling when you've completed your own personal challenge and enjoyed your friends doing the same as well as the glow of helping an amazing cause - Cancer Research UK.
For 2021, event organisers have come up with a brilliant alternative which combines the awesome fun of the classic Winter Run with the opportunity to aim for a great selection of digital badges to inspire you as you get set for race day.
Cancer Research UK Winter Run 2021 is free and offers something to aim for during this tough winter period when you need a goal to defeat lockdown blues. However you can really enhance your experience by fundraising or donating for Cancer Research UK to earn rewards such as bobble hats, hoodies and much more.
Plus we're all starting to appreciate how important medical research is as we watch in awe at the amazing work scientists have completed to find a Covid vaccine.
There's still time to be part of the fun of this unique event but you'll have to be quick. Sign up today at the Cancer Research UK Winter Run website.
