Wine and Dash

Wine & dash at East Yorkshire

One that is sure to appeal to runners who enjoy a good vintage

This summer will see Little Wold Vineyard in East Yorkshre host an event at which participants can enjoy a glass of wine (or four) as they run through the countryside.

The Wine Dash, organised for Saturday 20 July, takes runners up and down hills along part of the Wolds Way countryside with views only interrupted by four wine stations - with wine provided by the family wine merchants, the House of Townend.

Split into two distances, competitors can choose to take part in either the 5k or 15 mile run. Wines from across the world (including non-alcoholic alternatives) plus nibbles will be available for all runners.

Anita Brien from organisers Dove House Hospice commented: “This is a truly unique event in a beautiful location. The vineyard is at the top of a hill on the popular Wolds Way and enjoys stunning views across the River Humber.”

Anita continued: "What better way to spend a summer’s day than enjoying some fresh air and a few glasses of wine, whilst raising money for a fantastic cause at the same time?”

Registration for the Wine Dash is now open with entry priced at £30 (or £15 for non-alcohol drinkers). Further information is available here.
