Happy finisher at Winchester Half

Winchester Half Marathon

This autumn half marathon on Sunday 22 September is a must for all runners....

This is just the fourth year for Winchester Half Marathon but already it has become a top south of England event with over 2,000 runners taking to the historic streets.

The exciting route has a lovely mix of the old city centre, the iconic Winchester Cathedral and the rolling Hampshire hills. The half marathon's scenic route sees runners passing famous landmarks such as St Catherine’s Hill, the cathedral and the statue of King Alfred the Great as well as enjoying stretches through idyllic Hampshire countryside. The race finishes back at the Guildhall with a picture perfect view of King Alfred.

This is a day for everyone to get involved from club runners, half marathon first timers, charities, corporate teams, and volunteers. You can also make it a family day out with the Children's Fun Run.

The event has attracted loads of positive reviews with one competitor motivated to write:

"Excellent event - beautiful course, great facilities (best loos ahead of a run I have ever known), great organisation, lovely atmosphere for runners and watchers. Thanks Winchester!"
