All Terrains Covered
This race is the epitome of 'multi-terrain' - find out why this June...
Runners of all abilities are set to take on the Westbridge 5 on 1 June - a much-loved event known for its friendly atmosphere and fast, multi-terrain course. Taking place in Stone's Westbridge Park, this five-mile race offers a unique mix of road, trail and canal towpath running, making it a must-do for both competitive racers and those looking for an enjoyable run in a picturesque setting.
A staple in the North Staffs Road Runners programme, the Westbridge 5 is a welcome contrast to the tougher Spring Treble series held in April. The course starts and finishes near the town centre, leading runners south along the Trent and Mersey Canal, through the historic village of Aston, before looping back to Westbridge Park.
Organisers say: "With virtually no elevation, it’s an ideal race for those chasing a personal best, as well as first-timers looking for an achievable challenge."
Timed to coincide with the Stone Festival, the Westbridge 5 is capped at just 250 entrants, meaning spots fill up fast every year. Finishers won’t leave empty-handed either - everyone crossing the line will receive a bespoke Westbridge 5 beer from Lymestone Brewery with a non-alcoholic option available. Additional treats, including energy gels from Protein Rebel, will also be handed out, ensuring runners are well rewarded for their efforts.
With its scenic route, top-notch organisation, and fantastic community spirit, the Westbridge 5 continues to be one of Staffordshire’s standout races. If you’re looking for a flat, fast and friendly event, this one’s not to be missed!
