Date Change For London 10,000
Busy programme pushes Vitality London 10,000 and Westminster Mile back
London Marathon Events has announced that the hugely popular Vitality London 10,000 will now take place on Sunday 24 September 2023 on its traditional course, starting on The Mall, going out through Trafalgar Square, on to the City of London, passing many of the capital’s most famous landmarks.
The new date for Vitality London 10,000 – usually held on the early May Bank Holiday Monday – has become necessary this year due to the packed ceremonial calendar in May and June 2023, including the Coronation of King Charles III and the King’s Birthday Parade, together with London’s usual busy annual event calendar.
The Vitality Westminster Mile will take place on the previous day – Saturday 23 September 2023 – to continue the tradition of the two events being held on consecutive days, with mile races for the entire athletics family starting on The Mall and finishing in front of Buckingham Palace.
Entries will open early next month. To get ahead of the pack you can register your interest in receiving advance notification of entries opening by email by visiting the Vitality London 10,000 website here or Vitality Westminster Mile here.
London Marathon Events is very grateful to Westminster City Council, The Royal Parks, the City of London, Camden, the GLA, Transport for London, and other stakeholders for their support in confirming these new dates for Vitality London 10,000 and Vitality Westminster Mile.
Last year's Vitality London 10,000 saw 13,500 finishers and a surprise win over Sir Mo Farah for Aldershot, Farnham and District AC club runner Ellis Cross (28:40) plus a Scottish record 30:23 victory for Eilish McColgan (Dundee Hawkhill Harriers) in the women's race.
