Launching Into 2026
Up & Running to launch in Edinburgh in the New Year...
Glasgow-based Up and Running Events has announced it will launch in Edinburgh in 2026, bringing its fast-growing programme of races to the capital for the first time.
The Edinburgh debut will take place on 11 January at Holyrood Park, with the new year launch promising the same high-energy race day atmosphere that has proved popular in Glasgow. Runners will be able to choose from 5K, 10K and half marathon distances, all set against the dramatic backdrop of one of Scotland’s most iconic urban parks.
The events company has enjoyed strong success since its launch in Glasgow in 2024, delivering a series of well-supported races across the city’s parks, including Bellahouston, Kelvingrove and Queen’s Park. Built around an ethos of welcoming every runner, Up and Running has established a reputation for accurately timed events that cater for all abilities, from first-time participants to experienced athletes.
Organisers say the event marks the beginning of their journey in the capital and forms part of plans to expand the series beyond the West of Scotland. With scenic routes, chip timing, quality medals and a supportive atmosphere at the heart of the experience, the Holyrood Park races are expected to appeal to runners looking to kick-start 2026, take on a new challenge or simply be part of the company’s first Edinburgh event.
