Triffic Trail 10K thumbs up

Tongue Twister 10K

Triffic results in Trent Park Running Club's annual trail blazer...

The Trent Park Triffic Trail 10K is as much a tongue twister as a lung buster! This superb multi-terrain race takes place entirely within the beautiful Trent Country Park – a 413-acre oasis of calm with rolling meadows, brooks, lakes, ancient woodland, and imposing historical sites that form part of London's Green Belt on the borders of Enfield.

There is free parking in Trent Country Park. However, the host club Trent Park RC encourages people to travel by public transport where possible. Cockfosters Underground Station is just a short walk from the park.

There are toilet facilities, water stations, baggage, and changing facilities on site. The race has been highly commended for the organisation and optional race T-shirt. All finishers receive a drawstring shoe bag to look after those expensive trainers!

Trent Park Triffic Trail 10K has been run more or less continuously since it started in April 1985 and the current course highlights include Bluebell Wood, Cottage Hill, the Obelisk, Camlet Moat, and the final hill known colloquially to club members as "Mount Everest"! The latest edition was held in warm conditions on Sunday 23 June 2024.

This year's top climber was Tom Butler (Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers, 33:23) followed by Monte Watson (Highgate Harriers, 34:43) and William Douglas (Trent Park RC, 35:07).

The peak performer in the women's race was Tabitha Woodhouse (Herts Phoenix AC, 38:58) from Trent Park RC members Kat Alpe (42:58) and W45 Anja Greenwood (44:10).

There is a Junior Triffic Trail Race and Fun Run that splits from the main race at Cottage Hill for a 4.5K distance and this was won by Herts Phoenix AC under-16 runner Sean Mazur (18:17) and under-14 Isabella Marriott (Trent Park RC, 19:44) took the first female award.

There were 412 finishers in the 10K and 46 completed the Fun Run. Full details of the event are available on the Triffic Trail website here.

Results are shown at the runABC South race listing here.
