Trafford 10K seeks new organiser
It’s all change at one of the country’s most popular club races as Dave Norman announces he is stepping aside as organiser of the Trafford 10K. Norman has been in charge of the race for 20 years and seen the event become a cornerstone of the northern racing circuit, known for its welcoming, friendly atmosphere and strong PB potential.
Explaining the reasons behind his decision, Norman commented: “It is with great sadness I announce that I will no longer be organising this race. After 20 years of organising it, the race has got bigger and bigger each year and has become too time consuming for me to continue to commit to.
“The hard work and time put in has been totally worthwhile as it has provided so many runners with a positive racing experience. I very much hope that somebody will come forward and keep this very special race going.”
This year’s Trafford 10K took place in September rather than its original date in in March due to the inclement weather. As is customary, the race produced a number of lightning quick times, with Marc Scott (28:57) and Jessica Piasecki (32:52) finishing top of their respective fields.
