Kicking Up The Leaves

Why not sign up for this award-winning Nottinghamshire trail run?

The award-winning Thoresby Leaf Kick will return to the beautiful grounds of Thoresby Park, north Nottinghamshire on 15 October and with distances including 5K, 10K, 10 Mile, Half Marathon, 30K and Marathon - it is certainly an 'inclusive' affair. But be quick, as standard online entries are set to close this Friday (15 September).

Running over old military roads, cleared tracks through ancient woodland and grassed paths around the country estate this is trail running at its best! The route includes a few hills to offer a challenge around the course and look out for the Longhorn Cattle of Thoresby Estate, who usually roam free in the forest, in their restricted fields for the race.

The 10K route is the same as well known 'The Longhorn' but in reverse. The 10 mile race is the 10K route with an extra four miles added through different parts of the ancient woodland. The half marathon is two laps of the 10K route with a pretty diversion on each lap to extend to distance. The 30K completes three laps of the 10K course and the marathon follows the half marathon course.

The 5K route takes runners on grass past the beautiful church at Perlethorpe, then onto tarmac through the village and back onto the main field in front of Thoresby Hall. This event can be a gentle stroll with the family or a race to get your 5K PB.

Speaking about the event on Facebook a previous entrant said: "Superb event with great views. The course is undulating with a mix of terrain, some of which is uneven so take care. So well organised and Amanda at SBR is one of the most helpful people I've ever had the pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended!"
