BOO is Back!
After a successful first outing in 2022, the BOO 10K is back...
After a successful inaugural outing in 2022 the BOO 10K will make a triumphant return to the West Highlands on 5 November. Far from being as terrifying as the name implies, this Bridge of Orchy-based event is billed by organisers as 'Scotland’s most beautiful 10K' and with a location 'to die for' it is hard to argue.
Taking place on Bonfire Night (5 November) and just one week after Halloween, this race offers some bite with a route that begins at the bridge itself followed by a tough 2K climb up the West Highland Way path. The scenery may help with this lung-busting section as runners will be rewarded with outstanding views of Loch Tulla.
Runners are then treated to a quick descent to the road section which will allow them to get their breath back, find their pace and take in views of the spectacular Black Mount Estate. The last stretch of the race will see runners heading back to Bridge of Orchy with Loch Tulla on the left, views of Beinn Achaladair, Beinn an Dothaidh and Beinn Dorain inspiring everyone to a sprint finish back at the bridge!
The first 3K of the run is on the rocky, mostly uneven West Highland Way path where big puddles and small streams will need to be splashed through so organsisers do suggest wearing trail shoes that you are comfortable running on tarmac with as the best option.
Free parking and toilet facilities are provided at Inveroran Hotel, and if you’re travelling by train or bus, or not the designated driver, then the hotel bar is the perfect place for a post-race pint!
