Tag Teams Wanted

Become a team player and raise funds for Meningitis Now in a family friendly event in Worcestershire on Friday 22 June. Run or walk 3K and be rewarded with a complimentary ice cream.

More than 200 people took part in last year’s Tag1234 and the organiser Kevin Parsons is hoping to repeat that success with the 2018 event. It is held in Morton Stanley Park in Redditch complete with trails, wide open green spaces, wildflower meadows and views of the Malvern Hills.

This is the second year for this all-inclusive event open to teams of four people of all ages and backgrounds, non-runners as well as athletes who want an enjoyable day while raising funds for a worthwhile cause. It is a professional, community-minded affair with an emphasis on having fun and supporting each other in an attractive location. More than 200 people took part in the 2017 Tag1234.

Tag1234 originated from the Arrow Valley 8.5 (AV8.5) parkrun event which started in 2015 and has grown in popularity since then. A group from Arrow Valley completed 8 x 5K runs within 12 hours and followed this by adding a junior parkrun course, taking the total mileage to 42.2k or the equivalent of a marathon. The 2018 AV8.5 is on 8 September.

Since 2015 both events have raised over £16,000 for charities including Action Medical Research for Children, Acorns, CCSHF and Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Meningitis Now is the chosen charity this year.

To enter, visit the Tag1234 website or come along and support or volunteer.
