Supernova 5K Runners

Shine Bright At This 5K

Still time to be a part of Falkirk's Supernova night time race...

There's still time to be a part of this year's Supernova 5K Runs which are set to take place on 17 & 18 March around Falkirk's 30m tall horse-head statues, also known as The Kelpies. These giant metal structures have to be among the most beautiful sculptures in the UK and make a wonderful backdrop to these night time runs.

The fantastic 5K route is a great opportunity to explore the home of The Kelpies and the perfect way to get involved in a timed event with your family and friends, whilst taking in the fantastic atmosphere and having lots of fun!

Starting and finishing within Falkirk's Helix Park, the beautiful route allows runners the rare opportunity to run alongside the iconic sculptures which are lit up and change colour at dusk to create a beautiful spectacle for participants and spectators alike!

Kelpies are mythical creatures from Scottish folklore who love to play at dusk, so organisers are asking you to 'take a leaf out of their book and immerse yourself in a light journey with them'.

Organisers have also put together a brilliant selection of goodies as a reward for your efforts which includes a
Supernova buff for keeping you warm on colder days an LED head torch, finisher's medal and lots more.

This is an event that has been designed to appeal to the whole family - from youngsters up to grandparents and everyone in between. The joy of running in such a beautiful setting with such iconic structures as a backdrop should not be underestimated. Organisers stress that this event is the perfect chance to dig out the fluorescent clothing and grab everything and anything that glows or flashes. The key component of this 5K is without a doubt - fun!
