Thumbs up at the scenic Knype Pool 5 race

Dive into the Knype Pool 5

Challenge yourself over 5 miles of mixed terrain and receive an eye-catching medal in return.

This Sunday (26 February) is the Knype Pool 5, a multi-terrain race hosted by Biddulph Running Club raising funds for the mayor’s chosen charities. Expect a good test for the legs in attractive surroundings then recover with a sweet treat (or several!) from the popular charity cake stall. There are still places for this friendly local race.

It begins with a 1 Mile Fun Run at 10.15am followed by the Knype Pool 5 Mile race at 11am on an off-road course which could be slippery underfoot depending upon the weather. The route is paths, trails and fields and goes around Knypersley Reservoir with a climb up to the top of Biddulph Moor before returning along the reservoir and a burst of speed to the finish.

There are cash prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd men and women which will be presented at the finish: prizes for age category winners to be posted out. A medal will be presented to each finisher.

Then replace the lost calories at the Race Village with hot food and drinks, available to purchase from the Scouts. Don’t forget your card or cash for this and the cake stall too.

The Mayor of Biddulph, Cllr Jim Garvey will be there along with the Town Crier at this community event, supported by a range of businesses whose help and assistance contribute towards its success. Their generosity is acknowledged and appreciated by Biddulph Running Club.

Register for the Knype Pool 5 here. Entry for the Fun Run is on-the-day-only.

All runners are advised to read the Race Briefing Notes on the website.
