80% of places have been snapped up for the 2024 AJ Bell Junior and Mini Great Manchester Run which is all set to take place the day before the AJ Bell Great Manchester Run on Saturday 25 May. This fun-filled event is the perfect opportunity to get the whole family involved in Manchester's amazing race weekend.

The race action will take place at the Etihad Campus in Manchester and provides younger ones with their own day to take centre stage with fancy dress, high-fives, and lots of local support! Organisers say: "We’ve made some exciting updates to the route for 2024. Junior and Mini runners will start on the track in the Manchester Regional Arena, with a view of the Etihad Stadium in the background, before making their way around the Stadium and under the Nexen Bridge.

"A grandstand finish awaits in the Manchester Regional Arena where spectators will be waiting to cheer our future running stars over the finish line."

This year's event is all about Finding Your Superpower so expect fancy dress, cheering spectators and high-fives as the young runners take centre stage. A spokesperson from Great Run told us: "We want each and every one of our young runners, and spectators, to discover their own superpower – whether it’s racing, fundraising or being a superstar spectator.

"We’re also inviting our enthusiastic runners (big and small!) to come in superhero fancy dress on the day. We’re thinking capes, eye masks and something else to showcase your own power."

The event will welcome budding runners from 3-15 years old. The Mini event is for 3–8-year-olds over a 1.5K course while the 2.5K Junior event is for those aged 9-15.
