Make Plans For NYE

There's still time to be a part of the Shrewsbury NYE Midnight run...

We've mentioned this event before, but when we heard there were still some spots remaining, it seemed the decent thing to remind you of the chance to be a part of something a little different to the usual overindulgences of New Year's Eve! The Shrewsbury NYE Midnight Run is all set for 31 December and taking part will surely help you to start 2024 with all the best intentions.

Speaking about their event organisers, Run UKAC, say: "Bring in the New Year the right way at the UK's only New Year's Eve Midnight Run. Join hundreds of others kick start their New Year's fitness at the strike of 12."

You can choose to take on either 2.5K, 5K or 10K distances as the sound of fireworks and 'Auld Lang Syne' are heard across the town. This is a beautiful course through The Quarry in Shrewsbury with hard-packed ground that makes it the perfect opportunity to bag a new PB! Just imagine starting the new year with a personal best under your belt!

2022's event saw more than 200 people gather to bring in the New Year in their trainers. Speaking after the celebrations organisers commented: "Our goal is to give people a different way to celebrate – without starting the new year with a hangover!"

Whilst a 2022 participant enthused: "I really enjoyed doing something a little different for NYE! I hope to return next year, hopefully along with many others."
