Trail Five Strides Back In 2025
With stunning scenery, enthusiastic marshals and a supportive club behind it, the return of the Striders Trail Five is set to be a memorable day for all involved...
The St Helens Striders Trail Five is making a long-awaited return after a year’s break, with the race set for Sunday 2 November. Known for its lively atmosphere and club spirit, the event offers runners a five-mile adventure through the trails and woodland paths of Carr Mill Dam and Sankey Valley Park.
Organised by St Helens Striders, the race has become a highlight on the local calendar, drawing runners eager to test themselves on a compact trail course with a few tarmac sections thrown in. The autumn setting provides plenty of mud, undulating hills and tree-lined trails, making it an ideal warm-up for the cross country season.
Starting and finishing at the Sankey Visitors Centre on Blackbrook Road, the race promises plenty of support along the route, along with prizes for top finishers and a goody bag for every participant. Runners are invited to continue the celebrations at The Ship Inn, which sits right at the start area.
Branded by the organisers as 'the best trail race in the world, ever', the Trail Five has built a reputation for being as much about camaraderie and enjoyment as competition.
