Get Ready to Splash!
This summer race will see you get more than just your feet wet...
This year's Splash & Dash Beach Race will return to St Andrews' West Sands on 21 July. An evening event, race action will commence at 6.30pm.
The 4.5-mile-long race has been held on the firm surfaces of St Andrews’ magnificent West Sands beach since 2017. Starting and finishing at the Life Guards Beach Hut the event is a two-lap race. At the end of each lap, runners are treated to what organisers call ‘a nice cooling dip'.
Organisers comment: "There are no surprise hills but you will be delighted to know that at the end of each lap we have included a nice cooling water dip for your pleasure! You will get more than your feet wet so remember to bring a change of clothing!
"There are track runners, trail runners and hill runners but the most fun loving have to be beach runners!"
All those taking part will receive a race medal and there will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall males and females. The race also offers the support of a very patriotic red lobster... just wait and see!
