Off on a circuit at the Carsington 7+ race

Come on round at the Carsington 7+

The 2022 event is part of the new Triple Race Package.

A delightful run around the reservoir with superb views of the countryside is the treat in store for participants at the Carsington 7+ on Sunday 15 May. This scenic 7.5 miler is a challenge and includes a few climbs but the location is well worth sore legs!

This is a well organised event that went above and beyond to keep runners safe in their 2020 and 2021 races in accordance with Covid regulations. The same duty of care will be on show at this year’s race where, depending upon the situation, some of those safety measures may be utilised again. This will be confirmed in due course.

Derby & District RSPCA is the headline charity.

New for 2022 are two race packages – the Triple Package and the Autumn Package – which allows runners to enter several events at a discounted price. The Carsington 7+ is the first race out of three in the Triple Package followed by the Wilne 10K (4 September) and the Derby 10 Mile (20 November). It is worth considering when deciding which RunDerby races to enter.

Whilst the single loop route is mostly on cycle tracks it isn’t flat: there are hills along this circuit so save something in the tank for those. There are yellow arrows, mile markers and marshals to ensure everyone continues in a clockwise direction as they take in the surroundings and the views across the water.

A reminder that Carsington Water is a popular visitor attraction and there will be members of the public using the course. Stay alert during the race.

More information about the route etc and how to enter is available at the Carsington 7+ website.
