401 Festival Of Running Nottingham Medals

Sign up for new 401 Nottingham Festival of Running

There is still time to enter the new 401 Festival of Running in Nottingham this weekend (Sat 20 – Sun 21 July). Four races, bespoke medals and ‘Eco Cubes’ are amongst the treats in store at this family-friendly, green event.

The 401 Festival of Running 2019 – Nottingham will be held at Sherwood Pines Forest Park, Mansfield and welcomes everyone irrespective of age, ability and experience. It is about taking part and enjoying the day (or two days) with like-minded people while feeling a sense of pride in one’s achievements.

It is organised by the 401 Challenge Ltd, an events company formed after Ben Smith completed 401 marathons in 401 days raising over £300,000 for two anti-bullying charities - Kidscape and Stonewall.

Choose from a 5K, 10K and Half Marathon plus a 6.1K for anyone wanting to complete all four races (26.2 miles) and become a Festival Challenge Finisher. There are four children’s races too. The medals pay homage to Nottingham’s favourite son in the form of a Robin Hood spinner in the centre and can be displayed in a ‘401 Eco Cube’ made from recycled wood.

This sustainability ethos extends to reusable cups and race T-shirts which are made from recycled bottles.

Entertainment is provided at the 401 Challenge events village and includes organic food stalls, pop-up bars and a free screening of ‘The Goonies’ film on Saturday evening. Camelbak is the official event sponsor with race management from Nice Work and support from Notts Women Runners and other event partners.

Tickets can be purchased via The 401 Challenge website.
