New Date for New Year Race

Celebrate the New Year, six months late...

Get your New Year off to a flying start in... June 2024! Yes thanks to treacherous weather conditions back in January forcing a cancellation, the Sherwood New Year 10K & 5K event will now take place on 2 June.

Organisers, Nice Work, commented: "This race was originally scheduled to take place on 21 January as our New Year celebration in Sherwood. However, due to high winds forecast by the Met Office, Sherwood Pines informed us that the site would be closed on this day and so the event was postponed."

Runners are now invited to celebrate the new year with a 'slightly late, slightly sunnier iteration of this wonderful forest race'! So if that New Year's resolution to get yourself race-fit is still twirling about your brain, then why not head to the picturesque forest of Sherwood Pines, for these 10K and 5K races. Great for seasoned pros or total newbies and the course's gorgeous greenery is sure to motivate any runner to the finish.

The races follow a looped course which spans through the naturally undulating trails within the forest. Once part of the ancient Sherwood Forest, the park is the largest of its kind in the East Midlands. Throughout the race, runners will make their way along dirt tracks flanked by the towering woodland.

The 10K course consists of two laps whilst those running a 5K race will complete only one lap. There are bespoke medal for all finishers.
