Beat the January blues and set yourself a running challenge for 2024 and what better than a half marathon that is loved by runners from far and wide? The race in question is the Sheffield Mutual Sheffield Half Marathon - South Yorkshire’s biggest and best loved half marathon.

Famous for its mile-long climb up Ringinglow Road along with stunning views across the Peak District, the half marathon will be returning to the city’s sporting calendar on Sunday 7 April. The race also boasts a city centre start and finish and as ever a huge crowd of enthusiastic supporters will cheer participants out and back.

Thousands of participants of all abilities pound the streets every year to rise to the challenge, all with their own reasons and goals for taking part. Whether you’re fundraising for a charity close to your heart, generating awareness of a meaningful cause or simply enjoy taking on a new challenge, you can be guaranteed a finish line feeling you’ll never forget.

The race even incorporates a 'triple test' giving entrants a chance to be crowned Peaks Challenge winners in a timed hill climb, triumph in a timed 10K downhill sprint section and cross the finish line first to lift the Sheffield Half Marathon title.

Those taking part can look forward to a goody bag of rewards at the finish line, including post-run treats and a hard-earned bespoke medal to show off with pride!
