Running Hot & Cold

Running and cold water therapy comes to Glasgow’s West End...

What started in early 2023 as a small group of friends meeting at the foot of the Campsies for a run and an ice-cold dip has evolved into Wolftuna Club – a thriving Glasgow-based community blending outdoor activity with mental and physical wellbeing.

The founders began by setting their alarms before dawn, heading out for a 5K run to get their bodies moving and catch up with friends, before plunging into the icy waters of the Campsie Glens. They say: "The combination of movement, nature and cold water immersion provided a natural dopamine boost that replaced late nights and parties, quickly becoming a vital part of our weekly routine." The benefits to their mental health were immediate and before long the group decided to open their activities to others.

Today, Wolftuna Club welcomes members of all fitness levels, offering weekly classes, outdoor challenges and an inclusive, supportive environment. The club offers a free Run Club with different paced groups and guidance from qualified coaches. Those looking for something unique can join the signature Run & Dips sessions – a social run followed by open water immersion, ideal for boosting circulation, building resilience and lifting mood.

The club has The Wellness Lounge – a dedicated recovery and wellbeing space located in Glasgow’s West End on South Street. The lounge is designed to complement the club’s active sessions, with state-of-the-art ChillTubs ice baths, an mPulse infrared sauna with red light therapy and expert sports massage treatments from Physifix. It’s also a social hub, with post-run coffee and a relaxed space for members and newcomers to connect.
