Turkey Chasers
Chase a turkey around Falkirk's Helix Park and bag yourself a PB this Christmas...
It’s hard to avoid the fact that Christmas is round the corner and it becomes even harder when every time you glance at runABC’s unbeatable race listing you spot that another festive event is back for some real life race action in 2021.
We've focused on a few of these Christmassy events over the last week or so but we are sorry (not sorry) for keeping the theme going with Falkirk’s Chase The Turkey (19 December). In this fun and family-friendly offering runners will come together to 'chase a turkey' over a 3K, 5K or 10K route around the town's Helix Park, home of the iconic Kelpie sculptures.
This is a race with a stunning location, but there will be no time to admire the famous landmark as runners will indeed be in hot pursuit of a turkey (or someone dressed as a turkey)! The clever thing is that these turkeys will be pacers so participants can give their best shot at PB glory.
Adding to the fun aspect of the day, prizes will be up for grabs for the best dressed, best group costume and those with the most festive cheer and all finishers get a themed medal to take home! There will also be a complimentary hot drinks voucher to exchange in the visitor centre as a well-earned treat.
For more information or to sign up, visit the Falkirk Community Trust website or event partners UK Running Series website.
If you can’t make it to Falkirk, don’t worry you can also take part in the Virtual Chase the Turkey and do it wherever you are in the world more details on this can also be found at the event website.
