The Run the Blades 50K Ultra is organised by Breaking Strain and takes place at Whitelee Wind Farm near Eaglesham, south of Glasgow. The event is the original Run the Blades ultra distance, offering runners a step up from marathon distance within one of Scotland’s most distinctive trail running locations.
The 50K Ultra course follows the access tracks and trails of Whitelee Wind Farm, taking runners across open moorland and rolling terrain surrounded by wind turbines. The well marked route includes four checkpoints and provides a challenging but runnable introduction to longer distance trail racing.
The event features chip timing, live results, route signage, marshals, first aid support, on site parking and a finisher medal and goody bag. A vibrant event village with refreshments and a supportive atmosphere creates a memorable ultra running experience.
