Full weekend planned at Sandringham Estate
After 24-hours they really will have Run Sandringham!
runABC South's featured race this weekend is the Good Running Events' Run Sandringham 24-hours starting on Saturday (20 August). This is much more than an endurance event for solo runners and relay teams – it's a full-on weekend running festival, with an event village open from noon on Friday (19 August) and a campsite that closes at 6:00pm on Sunday.
Run Sandringham is also far more than a 24-hour challenge. A packed programme includes a free-to-enter Children's Race at 6:30pm on Friday evening, followed by live music with Sons of Mark from 7:30pm.
Registration and number collection for the 24-hour race closes at 11:30am on Saturday and the race begins promptly at 12:00-noon on a super scenic 5-mile route around the grounds of Sandringham Estate, Her Majesty The Queen’s winter retreat.
Entries are closed for the 24-hour race that can be run solo, as a pair, or in a relay team with up to 12 runners. Solo runners and teams can simply run as far as possible within the time available.
All competitors must wear a head torch from 7:30pm through the night and the final lap must commence before 12:00-noon on Sunday. Runners will also wear a hi-viz wristband to indicate the 'live' runner in each team. Only one runner from each team is permitted on the course, apart from the final 100m dash when a mass finish is positively encouraged!
