Lewis Hamilton has covered plenty of miles around Silverstone. On Sunday 22 November, thousands of runners will get their own chance to tackle the famous Grand Prix circuit, although considerably fewer horsepower will be involved.

Run Fest Silverstone returns for another day of racing on foot, with a Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and Family Mile bringing runners of different ages and abilities to the home of the British Grand Prix.

The event has quickly established a following. Its debut attracted more than 5,000 participants, while the 2025 edition sold out, demonstrating the appeal of swapping ordinary roads for one of motorsport's most recognisable venues.

And this isn't simply running somewhere near the circuit. Participants get to experience the actual Silverstone tarmac, negotiating famous sections including Stowe Corner, Vale and Hangar Straight.

The flat course makes the longer distances particularly appealing for runners chasing a late-season personal best, while the 5K and Family Mile give less experienced runners and youngsters an opportunity to enjoy the surroundings.

There is a festival atmosphere too, with entertainment and spectators adding to the occasion. The Family Mile starts at 9:30am, followed by the Half Marathon, 10K and 5K at 10:00am.

For Formula One fans, running Silverstone offers a rather different perspective on a circuit normally associated with some of the fastest machines in the world.

The lap times might be a little slower, but at least nobody needs to worry about a pit stop.
