Eilish McColgan shares her thoughts and answers questions in free webinar tonight
Rare chance to speak direct (via Zoom) to one of Scotland’s best athletes
Soon-to-be triple Olympian Eilish McColgan will be taking questions from runners in a free webinar this evening (Monday, 5 July).
The interview, to be held via Zoom at 7pm tonight, forms part of Run and Become’s 30th birthday celebrations for its Edinburgh store.
During the 60-minute session, McColgan will talk about how she got involved in athletics, progressing through the club system just like her mother Liz. She will also describe her journey though life as a Scottish junior, then senior international and now a regular Great Britain international and Olympian.
McColgan will also talk about the reality of ‘living the dream’ as a full-time athlete and how she has managed to stay focused during the events of the last 12 months.
The newest holder of the UK women’s 5000m record – liberated from none other than Paula Radcliffe – will also reflect on her past Olympic experiences and her hopes for the upcoming Tokyo Games. She will also offer her best advice for aspiring young athletes and take questions from the virtual floor.
As part of the birthday celebrations, two of McColgan’s sponsors – Aftershokz bone-conducting headphones and Polar monitors – will be offering prizes drawn at random from those signing up.
For the ‘tech geeks’ listening in there will also be a short explanation of the technology behind the bone-conducting headphones.
Runners interested in taking part in the webinar – even if just to listen – should register their interest ASAP.
