Royal Norwich Half Marathon host venue 2025

Renewal Of Norwich Half Marathon

Norwich Road Runners breathe new life into a classic event...

Norfolk is the place to be for race revivals. Hot on the heels of the refreshed Larking Gowen Norwich Half Marathon – reported last month here on runABC – we have the announcement from Norwich Road Runners that the Royal Norwich Half Marathon will be held on Sunday 23 February 2025.

The Royal Norwich Half Marathon is not exactly by Royal appointment. The race title reflects the generous support of the host venue Royal Norwich Golf & Country Club (pictured). Louis Bond and Jodie Causer of Norwich Road Runners said: "We are very excited to bring this race back and we really want to make this a special race to remember, and more importantly, make it an annual race in our race calendars."

The running community has responded and the race is almost sold out with two months to go. A recent social media post indicated just 75 places remaining. Entries have been received from more than half of England's 48 counties, plus Wales and Denmark!

Regarding sponsorship, Persimmon Homes and Epic Custom Kit haven't bottled it as they have jointly provided the handsome metallic black drinks bottles for all finishers. The nearby ROARR! Dinosaur Adventure Park has also got its teeth into the event and support includes free entry for every runner and a discounted price for runners' friends and family. This can be used during or after the race.

The lead charity is Priscilla Bacon Hospice and there will be an optional £1 charity donation at check out. Entries are from £28 and race T-shirts are an extra £12 plus £2 postage if required.

The accurately-measured 13.1-mile course starts and finishes at the fabulous facilities of Royal Norwich Golf & Country Club. The single-lap route visits Ringland, Weston Green and Weston Longville, passing through some stunning rural Norfolk scenery.
