Get 5 miles for the price of 10 at September's Raby Castle Trail Runs...
Wild Deer Events have some pretty spectacular locations for their events and County Durham's Raby Castle Trail Runs are certainly no exception to this rule with runners set to enjoy running around the medieval castle's grounds this September (24th).
Darlington's Raby Castle is in fact the perfect location for a Wild Deer event, as there are deer roaming the grounds of this estate with miles of epic scenery to enjoy. Runners have the option of a 5, 10 or 15 mile race all of which will cover mixed terrain with some rough trails, firm paths, grass paths and woodland. The courses are moderately undulating, suitable for all abilities of runner.
Organisers comment: "Our runs will allow you to experience the castle and grounds in all its glory. Run with the wild deer at this unique location.
"If you are looking to challenge yourself, we are offering 10 mile runners the option to do an extra 5 miles for free on the day! Simply enter the 10 miler and at registration you can choose to complete 15 miles. Great prep for an autumn ultra or to bank some extra training miles."
Speaking about their impact on the trail racing scene, organisers said: "Trail Running is what made Wild Deer Events the success story it has become. From humble beginnings at Chopwell Woods in Gateshead we now have Trail Events across the UK with hundreds of runners returning to venues each year. We offer a variety of distances with some challenging courses designed for all levels of ability."
September's event also offers free parking, free photography, and access to the grounds for all runners and spectators. If you'd like to know more, visit the Raby Castle Trail Race website.
