Raby Castle Trail Runs take place within the historic Raby Castle estate at Staindrop, near Darlington. Set across extensive parkland surrounding the medieval castle, the event gives runners the chance to explore an impressive landscape of woodland, ornamental lakes, open grassland and areas inhabited by herds of red and fallow deer.
Runners can choose from Half Marathon, 10K and 5K distances, following routes that mix firm paths, woodland trails and grass sections with gentle undulations. The varied terrain makes the event accessible to newer trail runners while the longer distances provide a rewarding challenge against the backdrop of the castle and its surrounding estate.
All distances are chip timed, with finishers receiving a medal, Wild Deer merchandise, a drink and a snack. The event is also canicross friendly, allowing one controlled dog per runner, and free participant parking is available within the estate.
