Plum Race!
Runners go plum crazy for this summertime 10K...
What better way to spend a summer bank holiday than by taking part in a brilliantly organised local race? Runners in Worcestershire can certainly look forward to just that with the Pershore Plum 10K which will return in 2024 on 25 August.
The chip timed 10K will see runners take on a multi-terrain but flat route that starts at Pershore Leisure Centre. Runners will then head out along Pershore High Street, over the river, into the countryside and fields surrounding Wick, returning back into Pershore town and finishing in the Abbey Park Grounds.
The finish area is blessed with the backdrop of the impressive Pershore Abbey, a 10th Century Anglo-Saxon building which makes for some fantastic post race pics.
The event is part of the itinerary at the Pershore Plum Festival which will this year run from Saturday 25 August to Monday 27 August. Pershore and its association with the plum is not a new thing, the area has been famous for its fruit growing since medieval times. Participants can enjoy the 10K then spend the rest of the day exploring the events and activities on offer.
It goes without saying that each finishing runner will receive a medal, bottle of water and... a plum!
