OUTrun Returns
Be part of one of Scotland’s most vibrant running events this summer...
Glasgow FrontRunners will host the 11th edition of OUTrun on 23 August, bringing runners from across Scotland and beyond to the city’s Kelvingrove Park for a five-mile timed race that celebrates health, wellbeing and inclusivity.
Held in one of Glasgow’s most iconic green spaces, OUTrun is Scotland’s largest LGBTQIA+ running event and a highlight of the Glasgow FrontRunners’ calendar. Starting from the historic Kelvingrove Bandstand, the race welcomes up to 500 participants each year and is open to everyone, regardless of running background, club affiliation or identity.
The race course weaves through the park, with a few hills at the start and finish but is otherwise relatively flat. A special guest will lead a lively warm-up before the race begins, with full BSL interpretation provided throughout the event, including announcements, speeches and the prize presentation.
OUTrun is more than just a race. It’s a weekend of celebration, with additional social events and a popular post-race bake sale in support of this year’s charity partner, Time for Inclusive Education (TIE). Participants can also choose to make a donation to TIE during registration to further support its mission to promote inclusive education in Scotland.
All finishers will receive a goodie bag and this year’s exclusive race t-shirt, available only on the day. Organisers told us: "The 2025 design features the colour brown to recognise and show solidarity with people of colour within the LGBTQIA+ community, continuing Glasgow FrontRunners’ tradition of aligning the t-shirt design with the Progress Pride flag.
"Our event is open to FrontRunner clubs, other running groups and individual participants from all backgrounds, with a focus on creating a welcoming, accessible and fun atmosphere."
