Oundle New Year 10K and 5K

New Year In Northants

Northamptonshire races return to kick off 2026 in style...

Runners looking to start 2026 on the right foot can do just that at the Oundle New Year 10K and 5K, taking place on 4 January in Northamptonshire. Organised by Nice Work, the event marks their first race of the year and offers participants the perfect chance to embrace their new year fitness goals!

The races take place on tarmac country roads and lanes around the picturesque market town of Oundle. The gently undulating route showcases the best of the Northamptonshire countryside, with quiet roads and open views creating the ideal backdrop for both new and experienced runners.

The 5K is one lap of the course, while the 10K follows two laps, allowing participants to soak up the crisp winter air and countryside atmosphere.

Organisers say: "These races are the perfect way to set a positive tone for the months ahead. Whether it’s a first race or a return to racing after the festive break, the event promises a relaxed and welcoming environment."

Those taking part can look forward to a bespoke medal at the finish line, free event photography and prizes for the leading runners. Organisers have also expressed their gratitude to Oundle Primary School for its continued support in staging the event.
