Easter Cake Dash

Easter Cake Dash

For anyone looking to try something a little different this Easter, the Easter 5K Cake Dash offers running, mud and cake in equal measure...

A brand new event is hopping onto the Muddy Roads calendar for 2026 with the launch of the Easter 5K Cake Dash, taking place on Easter Sunday (5 April) at the unique venue of HMP Kirklevington, Stockton-on-Tees.

This fun focused 5K mixed terrain trail run is all about enjoying the experience rather than chasing the clock. The flat course combines trail paths, grass and firm tracks, creating an accessible and enjoyable route for runners and joggers of all abilities. Whether you are looking for a relaxed social run or simply an excuse to get outside over the Easter weekend, this event is designed to be welcoming and easy going.

Organisers told us: "Fancy dress is very much part of the fun, with Easter themed outfits strongly encouraged. Bunny ears, chicks, eggs, tutus and anything suitably daft are guaranteed to fit right in and add to the light hearted atmosphere on the day."

Every finisher will be rewarded with cake at the finish, making the Easter 5K Cake Dash a race where calories don't count. The event is open to participants aged 12 and over making it a great option for families looking to run together.

Hosted in partnership with the Trail Running Association, the event promises a friendly Muddy Roads experience with a relaxed feel, mixed terrain underfoot and plenty of smiles along the way.
