A new race for the Lake District to celebrate 50 years of Derwent AC...

This year Cumbria's Derwent Athletic Club is celebrating its 50th Anniversary. To help commemorate this golden jubilee, the club will be staging a brand new 10 mile race as part of their already popular roster.

The club is already known for being behind the Isel Cross (April), Hay O Trail (May) and Lambfoot Loop (July). The fourth (and last) race for 2023 will be the inaugural The One 10 which is set to take place on 9 September.

A brand new race for 2023, the One 10 is sponsored by the Lakes Distillery and named after their iconic The One whisky. The 10 mile route starts and ends at the distillery, with runners enjoying a course that takes in the scenic Lake District countryside.

The club has commissioned a series of four medals for each race, and for runners who have competed in all four, these medals can be placed together to make a larger circular medal to celebrate 50 years of DAC.

In a further nod to the celebratory year, the 50th runner to complete September's race will be awarded a pair of Shokz bone conduction sport headphones. Organisers say: "After the success of our previous three events this year it is now time to get signed up for the brand new The One 10.

"This is our final race of the year and the opportunity to complete your medal collection and collect our limited edition 50th Anniversary medals. As this is our final race it will be a celebration with more amazing information and surprises to be announced."
