Happy runners at the Hertfordshire Half Marathon and 10K

Herts Half is ready to rock

Entries have sold out for this weekend's event

There's just a couple of days until Hertfordshire Half Marathon & 10K takes centre stage (Sunday 6 June) at Knebworth and runners are ready to perform. A closed road course and new medals are amongst the treats in store at this early summer race.

The event is live from Knebworth House – a venue famous for its open air rock concerts that has over the years hosted the Rolling Stones, Queen, Oasis, Robbie Williams and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers to name but a few. It will echo to different sounds this weekend, those of pounding feet, chatter and shouts of encouragement as 3,000 runners compete in the Half Marathon and 10K.

One of several southern races from RunThrough and Covid-secure as per all their events, it aims to deliver a memorable experience at this iconic venue with promises of more than a few PBs. Conditions look perfect for Sunday with sunny intervals and light winds forecast.

There will be coloured coded start waves in both races with runners setting off every few seconds. The Half Marathon starts at 9am from the front of Knebworth House - which is also the finish – and the 10K at 9.30am but from a different location.

Runners go through the grounds of Knebworth Park before heading out onto surrounding, rural roads that will be fully marked and marshalled, and stay hydrated via three water stations plus another at the finish. Sun cream might be a consideration depending upon the temperatures.

A rocking good medal and goodies for every finisher along with the sheer delight in being able to race once again. Bring it on!
