Another New parkrun In Scotland!
Nairn Links parkrun gets off to a flying start...
Nairn Links parkrun made its highly anticipated debut on Saturday, 29 March with an impressive 192 finishers turning out to celebrate the first event. Despite a brisk southwesterly breeze, spirits were high as runners tackled the scenic three-lap course along the stunning Nairn coastline.
With the wind in their faces one way and a downwind dash to the finish, participants enjoyed the unique challenge of this seaside route, which loops around Nairn Links and the dunes, incorporating a short out-and-back section near the Sundancer restaurant.
Run Director Jonathan Brodie commented: "A huge thank you to the 24 incredible volunteers who made the event possible. Among our finishers, a remarkable 39 runners were taking part in their first-ever parkrun, marking the start of what promises to be a thriving local event."
After crossing the line, participants and volunteers gathered at Strathnairn Café for the traditional post-parkrun coffee and chat, rounding off a fantastic morning of running and community spirit.
With an exciting start and a beautiful coastal course, Nairn Links parkrun is set to become a firm favourite on Scotland’s running calendar.
