MoRunning Back In The South
Time to start growing some facial hair... MoRunning is back this Movember!
MoRunning is back for November 2023 with races of varying distance including 1.5K, 5K, 10K and half marathons all set to take place in locations across the UK. In the south of England you can participate in events in Whitstable (4th), London (5th), Poole (11th), Southampton (12th), Bristol (12th) and Milton Keynes (26th).
All MoRuns offer fantastic routes, full race chip timing, incredible medals plus extras from event partners, fancy dress and best Mo prizes, smiles, laughs, new friendships and the creation of incredible, fun-filled memories. And let it be known, when we say the medals are incredible, we mean it - this year's bling (pictured above) is an apt and unique memento of your MoRun experience.
These races are all about inclusivity; whether you are just starting out, a seasoned runner, young or old, you can be a MoRunner. A spokesperson said: "Without a doubt MoSistas make up around half of all our runners! Ladies are essential to making MoRunning a success, getting the MoBro's running and helping raise awareness."
The MoRuns are organised by the Movember Foundation, the only charity tackling men’s health on a global scale. Through the MoRun and other activities, the charity raises funds and awareness for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention throughout the year.
All sums raised through entries, donations and individual fundraising at events like the MoRunning races across the UK help support Movember to achieve their very worthy goal: to stop men dying too young and to change the face of men’s health. In 2022 close to £70,000 was raised for this worthy cause, with organisers saying: "Thank you MoRunners, you’ve all been amazing, it’s been a blast, we have met so many incredible people and you all rock!"
Speaking about their events, organisers enthuse: "MoRunning brings everyday people together with our focus being to inspire you, your family, your kids and your friends to have the best time running! When you MoRun you will be inspired to achieve your goals, you will run with a smile on your face, you will meet incredible people and in turn help us raise awareness and fundraising for our partner charity Movember."
