Milton Keynes Festival of Running is organised by RunThrough, bringing together 5K, 10K, Half Marathon and 20 mile races in the Buckinghamshire city. Starting near Xscape in central Milton Keynes, the festival offers distances ranging from a shorter road race to a longer challenge suited to runners preparing for spring marathons.

The courses begin on the city's wide roads before heading onto predominantly flat routes through Milton Keynes. Each distance follows its own course, with the 20 mile route featuring approximately 165 metres of elevation gain. The combination of urban roads and more open stretches provides varied surroundings, while the longer distances offer an opportunity to practise sustained race pacing.

All four distances are chip timed, with marshals, course markings and water stations supporting runners along the routes. The 5K does not pass an on-course water station, although refreshments are available at the finish. Participants receive a themed medal, post race goodies and free official photography, with baggage storage and toilets available at the event village.
