Make A Bee Line To Bicton
Balmy Bicton 10K becomes Millwater 10K for 2025...
It always was a bit of a tongue twister!
The Balmy Bicton 10K at Budleigh will become the Millwater 10K on Sunday, 6 July 2025, to reflect the massive part that Millwater School plays in the success of this Devon delight.
The grounds of Millwater School lend themselves wonderfully to this race with plenty of parking places, green spaces and areas for spectators to cheer you on, creating a fantastic atmosphere.
Millwater School is a specialist school for children and young people with complex, severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties. They educate 121 learners between 3 and 19 years, and LMEvents is proud to support the school as part of the run. Watch out for the finish line cake sale, it's legendary!
Livewire Lizzie Mayne is the driving force behind LMEvents, founded in 2018, to promote inclusive, well-structured events that cater to participants at every level throughout Devon.
Last year's winners of the Balmy Bicton 10K were M45 Phil Wylie (Western Tempo, 32:40) – pictured above – and Alice Gill (unattached, 36:25). The course starts and finishes from Millwater School in the expansive grounds of Bicton College, north of Budleigh Salterton. The race surface is tarmac roads with some pebbly unmetalled roads, and even a ford if there has been plenty of rain!
The race starts at 9:00am, and registration and race number collection are open from 7:30am. There is a medal opt-out available, saving £3 on the modest standard entry fee of £22, and entries can be made directly via the runABC South race listing here.
