Race action from Run Mhor

Now It's The Mhor Marathon

A new event has been added to Scotland's growing list of marathon races with the introduction of Mhor Marathon on 12 August, 2018.

Pete Waugh's Tay Fitness team, who already organise the Hidden Glen 10K in April and the Run Mhor 84 10K / Half Marathon double header in June, are behind the new event. Run Mhor's April and June events are sold out so demand for the new race is expected to be high.

The Mhor Marathon course will start in Callander at McLaren High School and head north to Strathyre and the Mhor 84 motel. It then heads east towards Balquhidder and Loch Voil before the finish at Monachyle Mhor hotel.

The route takes advantage of the Mhor group's bases to provide strong servicing for the race and a focus for the 2-person relay element with leg one from Callendar to Mhor 84 (16 miles) and leg two from Mhor 84 to the finish at Monachyle Mhor (10 miles).

There is a 2250ft climb over the 26.2 miles (1550ft for the first leg and 700ft for the second) so participants can expect great views across both stages but are unlikely to post a distance PB.

Organisers are promising regular feed stations, announcer Dougie Robertson's enthusiastic pre and post-race commentary, a pint of Mhor 84 lager at the finish and Run Mhor's trademark premium food offerings.

Check out race details and transport options at the event website.
